Probably the most important
advantage the US had over other countries was its production
capabilities. With a boost from the federal government, the nation
was pulled up from the Great Depression era and began on a constantly
climbing economic boom. Industries soon churned out planes, tanks, and other wartime
materials at unforeseen speeds. This ability to overproduce
provided the momentum the Allies needed to turn the tide and eventually
force the Axis powers to concede defeat. |
